Staff at Cook Hall gathered Dec. 4 to wrap holiday gifts for the Adopt-a Family program of Manatee County.
This year, generous faculty, students, alumni and staff donated enough toys, clothing and money to see that 12 children, ranging in age from 20 months to 14, will have a brighter Christmas.
The gifts collected at New College included clothing, books, footballs and soccer balls, fishing poles and skateboards. “We always get a good response,” said Shelley Wilbur, senior administrative assistant in the president’s office.
In the last 12 years, New College of Florida has touched the lives of nearly 150 children from 50 families.
