David recently retired from a 26-year career as senior vice president in charge of career development at JPMorgan Chase. He used a mixture of therapy and career counseling in their career development office with a primary focus on developing programs to support the advancement of women and minorities within JPMorgan (both groups made up more than half of the company’s 225,000 employees at the time).
As a New College graduate, David specifically understands the challenges we face in building a program that complements our academic philosophy. Having a specific program we can point to in career education will give us a sharper edge with guidance counselors at the high schools within Florida and across the country. They, along with prospective parents and students, will see that New College is able to provide students with confidence building support, that we have the resources available to help students understand the world of work and provide them with a foundation for success that is complimentary to what is being provided to them through our academic programming
